Hotel Duomo Firenze is a family-run 3-star hotel with 24 rooms, located at Piazza del Duomo 1, directly facing Florence Cathedral and Brunelleschi’s Dome. The same family has run it since 1953. The hotel occupies the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of Palazzo Ranieri Gondi (also listed as Palazzo Gondi, not to be confused with the Renaissance Palazzo Gondi in Piazza San Firenze), which overlooks Piazza del Duomo. The building first belonged to the Ranieri family and was transformed and renovated by the Gondi family, notably by Nicola Gondi in 1728 and Vincenzo Gondi in 1847 (source:Palazzo Spinelli – Istituto per l’Arte e il Restauro, building record by Claudio Paolini). It is the only hotel on Piazza del Duomo: the other accommodations on the square are non-hotel properties.

Every room has air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a smart TV, a safe, a minibar, soundproof windows and a private bathroom with shower, bidet, hairdryer and toiletries; five rooms have a bathtub (23, 37, 38, 40 and 44). 13 of the 24 rooms look directly onto the Duomo: rooms 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 31, 32, 33, 37, 38, 39, 40 and 44. Rooms 31, 32 and 33 have a private balcony facing the Cathedral and Brunelleschi’s Dome. The table above lists all 24 rooms.

- Rooms are sold either with breakfast or room only. Breakfast is a buffet: €12 per person when booked with the room, €15 per person when requested at the hotel during the stay. Served from 7:30 to 10:00 am.
- Minibar items beyond the two bottles of water
- City tax: €6 per person per night, for a maximum of 7 nights; children under 12 are exempt. Paid at the hotel.
- The hotel has no restaurant, spa, gym or suites, and the terrace is not a rooftop terrace. There is no on-site parking; see the partner garage under Services.
Services
- Parking: Garage Michelangelo, Via Ricasoli 28, about 3 minutes’ walk from the hotel, €35 per 24 hours for cars up to 4.5 m long
- Laundry: external service, picked up the same day and returned the next day
- Iron and ironing board: available in a common area; ironing in the rooms is not allowed for safety reasons
- Luggage storage: free and unlimited on arrival and departure day
- On request: airport shuttle, babysitting, car rental, private car (limousine) service and room service (prices on request)
Children
Children up to 8 years old stay free when sharing their parents’ bed. Children up to 5 years old stay free in an added cot (one per room, on request). For families, the hotel has two triple rooms with a Duomo view, each with a double bed and a single bed; a free cot can be added. A cot cannot be added in single rooms, Classic courtyard rooms, room 33, Classic Duomo View rooms 38 and 39, or Smart Double room 43.
Notice for winter 2027
The breakfast room will be closed for renovation from January 7 to February 19, 2027. During that period breakfast is available at Bar Don Nino, on the ground floor of the same building, for €8 per person (cappuccino, coffee or tea, two pastries and fresh orange juice).
