 The Hotel is located on the IV floor of a 14th century building, whic in 1700 became the GONDI family residence, from wich the building actual name derives.
The Gondi's, whose origins go back to Charlemagne, covered an important role in the political and religious history of Florence. On more than one occasion banished from the city, when re-admitted the family divided itself in to 5 separate branches, relating by marriage to other rich and powerful florentine families such as the Strozzi's and the Rucellai's. |
